A New chapter for Web Shield

Web Shield is now a member of the ZignSec family – the Swedish RegTech company known for its global Identity Verification Platform and one of the first RegTech companies to be listed on the NASDAQ First North in Stockholm.

Building a one-stop-shop for KYC, due diligence and monitoring

ZignSec is a natural fit for Web Shield’s next development phase. It’s platform offers state-of-the-art technology for digital onboarding and ID verification services and complements Web Shield’s solutions.

Likewise, Web Shield’s onboarding and monitoring solutions is a key building-block within ZignSec’s compliance value chain: Together, both companies will create a unique service offering – a one-stop-shop KYC, due diligence, and monitoring solution via one single API or a No-Code platform in a drag and drop environment.

The collaboration will deliver added benefits in other areas. The collected expertise in technology and know-how of the two teams can now be used to improve the solution portfolio on both sides. In addition, being part of ZignSec’s marketplace will also expand Web Shield’s geographical presence to Sweden, the Czech Republic, the US, Malta, Singapore, and Estonia.

As a Web Shield client, you need not worry: All current contracts will stay unchanged – and there are future benefits on the horizon: Joining the ZignSec marketplace will allow us to integrate ZignSec’s digital onboarding and ID verification services into our platform. By delivering a one-stop-shop solution, we can minimize the necessary integration time and cost. In the future, our customers will also benefit from a much larger pool of information available throughout the whole due diligence process.

Web Shield’s new leadership team

As a consequence of joining ZignSec, there has also been changes to Web Shield’s management board.

Most importantly, Alex Noton has taken over as Web Shield’s CEO. With decades of expertise in senior roles at investment banks and accountancy firms, Alex has accumulated considerable strategic, management and business development experience.

Christian Chmiel will take on new responsibilities as our Chief Innovation Officer. This role will allow him to direct and support product design, research, and development to ensure Web Shield’s continuing technological edge in the market.

Joining Alex Noton, Christian Chmiel and longstanding Chief Technology Officer Markus Bauer in the management team are three Web Shield staff members. Marc Bongers, who joined our Sales team in 2019 will oversee client growth and account management as Chief Commercial Officer. Markus Prause, who helped build Web Shield’s underwriting team from the ground up will lead the underwriting and monitoring department as Chief Risk Officer. Finally, as the new Chief Operating Officer, Elena Schmidt will ensure that all business keeps functioning on the high level that Web Shield clients have come to expect from us.
